Creative Learning Therapies
Creative Learning Therapies LLC (CLT) is dedicated to providing a unique approach to applied behavior analysis by blending expressive arts. Expressive Arts based ABA creates a unique therapeutic approach that supports individuals, especially those with autism or other developmental differences where talk therapy may not be accessible nor appropriate for by combining structured behavioral strategies with creative expression. CLT uses painting, music, dance, drama, photography and culinary arts to reinforce skills like communication, social interaction, emotional regulation, environmental awareness, daily living skills, self awareness, confidence, self advocacy, responsiveness and so many more skills. Expressive Arts based ABA also encourages alternative ways to express needs and emotions using visual and/or performing arts. Expressive arts provide sensory experiences (e.g., playing with clay, dancing) that help with regulation. ABA-based social skills training can be integrated into drama, music, or group mural painting.
Expressive Arts based ABA also encourages self-expression while still working on measurable goals, reduces rigidity in learning by incorporating play and creativity, makes therapy more engaging and personalized and supports emotional regulation in a structured but flexible way.
